Set up the 10,000ft Panel for Smartsheet

Who can use this capability?

Permission requirements icon People with both a Smartsheet and 10,000ft license can use the 10,000ft Panel. A Smartsheet system admin & 10,000ft admin user is needed to set up the initial account connection.

Plan availability icon  Customers with active Business, Enterprise, or Premier Smartsheet plans and Business 10,000ft plans are eligible to use the 10,000ft panel.

NOTE: Smartsheet Team plans are not eligible. To inquire about a new purchase or an upgrade to an existing plan, please reach out to our Sales team.

Connect Smartsheet & 10,000ft Accounts

Connect accounts

To use the 10,000ft panel, the account connection must first be authorized. To connect your Smartsheet & 10,000ft accounts, any user who is both a SysAdmin in Smartsheet and a 10,000ft Admin can use the following steps:

  1. Login to 10,000ft.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Account Settings.
  3. Select the Connect to Smartsheet button.
  4. Login with your Smartsheet SysAdmin credentials and Allow Access to your Smartsheet Account.

If using a trial account, be sure you have configured an organization name for your Smartsheet account.

Once you’ve agreed to allow Smartsheet access to 10,000ft, your users can start using the 10,000ft panel. 

Connect to a 10,000ft Project 

Connect to a 10,000ft Project

  1. In Smartsheet, create or open a project sheet with dependencies enabled. For more information, see Enable Dependencies and Use Predecessors
    NOTE: Make sure the required columns have been added to the sheet. You’ll need: Start Date, End Date, Assigned To, and % Allocation columns
  2. Open Project Settings and ensure you’ve enabled 10,000ft Resource Management and mapped  the Assigned Resource and Allocation % columns. For more information, see Modify Project Settings.
    TIP: To easily access Project Settings, select the menu icon in the panel, then Edit Project Settings.
  3. Click on the blue balloon icon in the right rail and select Log in to 10,000ft to authorize your 10,000ft account. 
  4. Once authorized, use the panel to create a new 10,000ft project or connect to an existing one. Once you've added new project details, or selected an existing project, click Connect.

Disconnect from a 10,000ft Project

If you ever need to disconnect your sheet from a project, or want to use the same sheet to connect to a different 10,000ft project, use these steps:

  1. Click on the blue balloon icon in the right rail to open the 10,000ft panel.
  2. Select the menu icon in the upper left side of the panel.
  3. Select Disconnect 10,000ft Project.
  4. Create a new project or connect to another existing project (optional).

Revoke 10,000ft Authorization

If you need to change which 10,000ft account you are using with the 10,000ft panel (for example: when using multiple 10,000ft accounts in the same organization), you can revoke your current account and reauthorize with a different account.

  1. Log out of the current 10,000ft account by clicking Settings > Sign Out
  2. In Smartsheet, click on the blue balloon icon in the right rail to open the 10,000ft panel.
  3. Select the menu icon in the upper left side of the panel.
  4. Select Revoke 10,000ft.
  5. Select Log in to 10,000ft to authorize your other 10,000ft account.
