Find out if this capability is included in Smartsheet Regions or Smartsheet Gov.

Attach files to a comment

To provide more context to a comment, you can include an attachment with it.

Permissions

Users with Owner, Admin, Editor, or Commenter permissions can attach files to a comment.

To attach a file to a comment

  • Select Attachments The Attachments icon.   

You can attach files uploaded from your computer, links to websites, or files stored in Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Evernote, or Egnyte. Learn more about attaching files from an online resource. 

The file size limit depends on your user type. Learn more about attaching locally saved files to your sheet.

To remove an attachment

  1. Go to the Conversations panel of a row.
  2. Hover over the comment that includes the attachment.
  3. Select The More Options icon. 
  4. Select Edit comment.
  5. Hover over the attachment, and select The Delete icon .
    • In the dialog that appears, select Delete.
  6. To save the change, select Save.
