Create a new comment or reply to a comment

Once you’re in the Conversations panel in a sheet or report, or Comments section in a workspace, you can do the following tasks:

  • Add a comment
  • Reply to an existing comment

Add a comment

To add a comment in a sheet or report

  1. Go to the Conversations panel.
  2. In the comment box, type your comment. 
  3. Select Post comment

To add a comment in a workspace

  1. Go to the Comments dialog .
  2. In the comment box, type your comment.
  3. Select Post comment.

To add a comment on a file in a file library

  1. Open the file library.
  2. Select the file to open it.
  3. In the conversation panel, input your comment.
  4. Select Enter.

Reply to an existing comment

To reply to an existing comment in a sheet or report

  1. Go to the Conversations panel.
  2. In the comment where you want to reply, select Reply.
  3. Select Post comment (or press Enter or Return).
     

    You can change the Enter key behavior. To do this, at the bottom of the Conversations panel, select the Choose Enter key behavior icon. Then, choose the behavior you want to happen when you press the Enter key in the comment box: Press Enter to post a comment, or Press Enter for a new line.

To reply to an existing comment in a workspace

  1. Open the Comments dialog.
  2. In the comment where you want to reply, select Add reply.
  3. In the comment box, type your comment.
  4. Select Post comment.
