Bridge Frequently Asked Questions
When will I get my Bridge welcome email?
Bridge accounts are created as a part of the plan activation process. You will receive your Bridge welcome emails when the process is completed.
Only the initial Bridge System Admin will receive an email.
Can I use my Smartsheet login details to access Bridge?
Yes, users should be added to Bridge using the primary email on their Smartsheet account.
How do I get to Bridge?
Each Bridge account has a unique URL that customers must use to access Bridge. The Bridge URL is included in the welcome email received when a user is added to a Bridge account.
How do I edit login options for my Bridge account?
There are no settings to enable or disable specific login credentials for Bridge. Login settings are inherited from Smartsheet and are managed completely via the plan settings on your Smartsheet account.
Can I create a backup of a workflow?
There is no backup feature in Bridge; to backup workflows you can create a backup workspace and copy a completed workflow into the backup.
This will copy over the workflow, including configurations of the workflow modules, to a different workspace.
Once copied, remove any triggers to ensure the workflow doesn’t run and attempt duplicate work.
Can Bridge handle files?
Not directly. Bridge can handle file URLs for attachments that are hosted in an online resource (e.g. Brandfolder), but Bridge can't manage files directly or create files from data received into a workflow.
Can Bridge apply a single workflow to multiple sheets?
Yes. Multiple sheets can trigger the same workflow in Bridge.
You need to set up a trigger on the workflow for each sheet that should call a workflow. For example, if 5 sheets should use the same Bridge workflow, set up 5 triggers on the workflow, one for each sheet.
Is there a way to transfer ownership of the workflow?
Workflows don’t have an owner in Bridge, so ownership transfer isn’t necessary.
If the user who authenticated the integrations leaves the company, someone else will need to re-authenticate with their own credentials to keep the integrations running
When a sheet is configured as a trigger in a Bridge workflow, do all users on the sheet need access to Bridge?
No, only the user who is building workflows and authenticating the integrations must be on a Smartsheet plan.
Only add people as users in Bridge itself if they are building out and maintaining the processes/workflows, so other Smartsheet users don’t need to access Bridge.
Does Bridge support different user roles or permissions?
Bridge only has one user type at this time - a System Admin.
System Admins can add or remove users, create workspaces, authenticate integrations, and build/edit/delete workflows.
Is there a way for system admins to restrict integrations in Bridge?
There is no way to restrict integrations in Bridge at this time.
Anyone with access to Bridge has access to the full set of features.
We recommend only adding users who should be building and maintaining workflows, as all other users will receive the benefits of those workflows on the target items and without accessing Bridge itself.
Is there a way to restore deleted workspaces?
Deleted items in Bridge don’t currently have a restore option, but we may be able to recover the workspace through an escalation from Support.
Does Bridge work with other Smartsheet products?
Bridge works directly with Smartsheet and Resource Management.
Bridge can also work with any of the Smartsheet products that support public API calls by making an API call in your workflows.
What is Bridge's callback URL?
Some systems require a Bridge callback URL to set up the system to interact with Bridge. Bridge’s callback URL is:
Does Bridge store any transitory data? If so, where?
All user data that Bridge is shifting from one system to another via workflows is stored in AWS for up to 30 days.
