Access and Download Files Attached to a Workspace


Who can use this capability?

 Owners, Admins, and Editors of a workspace can add, version, or delete attachments. Anyone with access to the workspace can view and download attachments. You can send an attachment in an email to anyone with a valid email address.

System Admins for Enterprise and Premier accounts can disable any file attachment options. (See Manage Global Account Settings.)

This capability is available in all plan types.


Share files relevant to multiple divisions of work by with all interested parties by attaching the files to a workspace. Files attached to a workspace aren't related to a specific sheet, but rather to all sheets, reports, and dashboards in the workspace. 

Workspace attachments only show files that have been attached to the workspace itself. If you're looking for a file that was attached to a sheet in the workspace, you'll need to open that specific sheet.

Access files attached to a workspace

  1. Click Browse and then select the workspace that contains the attachments.
  2. Click the Attachments icon in the upper-right corner of the workspace

The Workspace Attachments Summary window appears. Here, you can view, download, or add new versions of attachments as needed.

Download a single attachment

In the Workspace Attachments Summary window:

  1. Right-click the attachment.
  2. Select Download Selected File.

Download multiple attachments at once

In the Workspace Attachments Summary window:

  1. Check the box next to each attachment that you want to download.
  2. Select Actions > Download Selected Files.
