Delete an attachment from a sheet or report

If files attached to your sheet or report are no longer relevant, you can remove them. Use these steps to delete attached files.

Find out if this capability is included in Smartsheet Regions or Smartsheet Gov.

When you delete a file from a sheet or report, its removal is permanent — the action cannot be undone.

Delete a single file

  1. In the sheet or report, select the Attachments icon in the right bar.
  2. In the Attachments panel's top bar, select the Row, Sheet, or All tab to filter on an attachment.
  3. Hover over the attachment's Actions icon and select Delete File.

Delete multiple files

  1. In the sheet or report, select the Attachments icon in the right bar.
  2. In the Attachments panel's top bar, select the Row, Sheet, or All tab to filter on specific attachments.
  3. Check the boxes next to any attachments you want to delete.
  4. From the Actions dropdown at the top of the panel, select Delete Files.

System Admins for Enterprise plans can disable any file attachment options. Learn how to manage global plan settings.
