Smartsheet Dynamic View

Introduction

Dynamic View lets you share specific data from a sheet or report without exposing the underlying source. You control which fields people see, whether they can edit them, and what happens when they open a row. This keeps the rest of your sheet confidential while you collaborate with vendors, cross-functional teams, or outside organizations.

To build a view, choose a source sheet or report, then select the fields to display. Configure the Details panel and its Field Logic settings to control what people can see and edit, and decide whether they can also add attachments, comments, or new rows. Share the finished view with specific users, groups, or domains, and adjust its settings anytime.

People you share a view with sign in to see only their assigned view, filter rows, and update the fields you've made editable. Their changes are saved directly back to the source sheet. They can also comment and @mention teammates without touching the original sheet or report.
