Who can use this capability

Sheets and reports can only be transferred to a licensed Smartsheet user. 

 

If you’re shared to an item, you can request ownership of that item. If the item is in a workspace, you must be shared to both the item and the workspace to request ownership. 

All plans can transfer sheets. If you're transferring reports, the person you're transferring them to must have a Business or Enterprise plan. If you're transferring dashboards, the person you're transferring them to must have a Business or Enterprise plan. The person you're transferring sheets, reports, or dashboards to must have a paid license.

  1. Browse to the item.
  2. Right-click the item and then select Make me the owner...

Only licensed users can request ownership of a sheet, report, or dashboard

Smartsheet will notify the owner of your request. You’ll receive notification once the request is approved or declined. You’ll own the item as soon as the owner accepts the request. Shared collaborators (if any) remain shared and retain their sharing permission levels.

To request ownership of Smartsheet items, you and the owner must be in the same organization.
