Who can use this capability
To use Data Shuttle, you must:
- Have Owner, Admin, or Editor permissions on the target sheet.
- Have Data Shuttle Premium Application permissions enabled in User Management by your Smartsheet System Admin.

Overview
SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence helps you with data reporting, visualization, and sharing across your business. As the on-premise BI layer for SAP’s Business Technology Platform, it transforms data into useful insights.

Export your data from SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence
To export to a CSV
Data is exported in the orientation displayed in the cross-tab. If the analysis has only a chart component associated with it, data from that analysis is exported but the chart visualization isn’t.
- On the toolbar, select the arrow beside the Export button and then select CSV.
- In the dialog box, select the crosstab or chart component whose data you want to export.
- If your analysis contains nested hierarchies, and you want to repeat the outer hierarchy member header for each inner hierarchy member, select the Repeat outer header members option.
- If a member on the cross-tab rows has both key and text values displayed, and you want the values to appear in separate columns in the CSV file, select Export Key and Text values as separate columns.
- Select OK to export the data.
To export to XLSX
If the exported analysis has both crosstab and chart components associated with it, the data is exported to an Excel worksheet, and the chart is exported as a static image. If the analysis has only a chart component associated with it, only the static chart image is exported.
Sorts, filters, scaling factors (for SAP BW data only), and conditional formatting are preserved in the exported data. Conditional formatting also makes use of the native Excel conditional formatting. Calculated data is exported, but the calculation formulas aren’t preserved.
- On the toolbar, select the arrow beside the Export button, and then select XLSX.
- In the dialog box, select the crosstab or chart component whose data you want to export.
- If your analysis contains nested hierarchies, and you want to repeat the outer hierarchy member header for each inner hierarchy member, select the Repeat outer header members option.
- If your analysis has multiple linked components, and you want to export data from those linked components as well, select the Include linked crosstabs and charts option.
- If a member on the cross-tab rows has both key and text values displayed, and you want the values to appear in separate columns in Excel, select Export Key and Text values as separate columns.
- Select OK to export the data.
Import your data into Smartsheet
Once you've got your report, save it in your Google Drive (shared or personal), OneDrive, SharePoint, or Box (shared or personal). You can then head to DataShuttle and begin building your upload workflow.
Select your preferred storage drive in the Source Location dropdown. You'll need to authenticate to the system the first time you ask Data Shuttle to connect with it. Use the filters and mapping steps to select the exact data you want to upload, and schedule your workflow to run as often as you require your data to be updated.
