Overview

Workday is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite covering accounting, finance, HR, and payroll. Bringing Workday data into Smartsheet ensures your teams are making decisions around resourcing, planning and budgeting based on the most up-to-date and accurate data.

Use cases

Use caseDetails
Time tracking and resource planningBring employee data into Smartsheet and use Resource Management to assign projects, balance workloads, and build strong teams based on expertise.
Talent managementUpload candidate information to match their skills and expertise with future opportunities that arise, to find the best candidate for the job. If you have a large pool of potential candidates that you want to keep on file for a period of time, DataTable could be used to ensure this data isn’t edited. DataTable Connections could then pull suitable candidates for hiring managers based on key attributes into a separate sheet, to promote data security and relevancy.
Employee performance trackingTrack and report on employee performance across reporting periods and teams in dashboards shared with leaders.
Budget trackingUpload salary information and link it with other budgeting reports to get a clear picture of your expenditure in a month.

Export your data from Workday

You can export a report from Workday as an Excel file in the top right portion of the Workday page. Uploading a report from Workday to Smartsheet helps you maintain control over the type of data you include.

Import your data into Smartsheet

Once you've got your report, save it in your Google Drive (shared or personal), OneDrive, SharePoint, or Box (shared or personal). You can then head to DataShuttle and begin building your upload workflow.

Select your preferred storage drive in the Source Location dropdown. You'll need to authenticate to the system the first time you ask Data Shuttle to connect with it. Use the filters and mapping steps to select the exact data you want to upload, and schedule your workflow to run as often as you require your data to be updated.
