Sheets and reports can only be transferred to a licensed Smartsheet user.

Request Owner permissions for a sheet, report, or dashboard

If you’re shared to an item, you can request Owner permissions for that item. If the item is in a workspace, you must also be shared to the workspace.

Sheets and reports can only be transferred to a licensed Smartsheet user. 

 

Find out if this capability is included in Smartsheet Regions or Smartsheet Gov.

To request access to a sheet, you should:

  1. Browse to the item.
  2. Right-click the item and select Make Me the Owner...

Only licensed users can request Owner permissions of a sheet, report, or dashboard.

Smartsheet notifies the Owner of your request. You receive a notification once the request is approved or declined. Shared collaborators remain shared and retain their sharing permission levels.

To request Owner permissions of Smartsheet items, you and the current Owner must be in the same organization.
