Smartsheet AI features

Smartsheet offers a range of AI features designed to reduce manual work and surface better insights across your projects. Smart Assist lets you query and act on your data through natural language, while Smart Columns automatically perform operations like sentiment analysis, translation, and summarization across your sheet as data changes. The AI dashboard builder lets you describe the view you need and generates a populated dashboard as a starting point. For working within sheets, you can generate formulas and text summaries using AI, analyze data to produce charts and metrics, and use intelligent form fill to complete forms quickly via voice or pasted text.

Smart Assist

Smart Assist is a conversational AI assistant embedded in Smartsheet that enables users to query, analyze, and act on their project data through natural language. Built on the same intelligence layer as the Smartsheet MCP Server, Smart Assist understands the structure and context of your sheets, workspaces, and team activity — providing answers, surfacing risks, and executing actions without requiring you to navigate menus or write formulas. Smart Columns

Smart Columns are AI-powered column types embedded directly in Smartsheet sheets. AI dashboard builder

The AI dashboard builder enables users to create Smartsheet dashboards through natural language, without manually configuring individual widgets. Users describe the view they need, select their data sources, and the AI dashboard builder generates a populated dashboard — including relevant charts, metrics, and layout — as a starting point that can be reviewed and customized before publishing. Generate formulas

When you use the generate formulas feature, your input and associated context are sent to a generative AI model, which generates a responsive formula and a description of it. Generate text and summaries

When you use the generate text and summaries feature, your input and associated context are sent to a generative AI model that generates responsive output text, which you may choose to apply to the selected cell. Intelligent form fill

Analyze data

When you use the analyze data tool, your input and associated context are sent to a generative AI model that generates a responsive chart or aggregated metrics based on the contents of your sheet.
