Metasheets allow to change a group of assets in bulk.
USM Content
Update and add tags, custom fields, dependent custom fields, asset names, and descriptions via CSV. This significantly reduces an Admin's time spent ensuring the correct taxonomy and information are in place across multiple assets.
Create a metasheet
- Bulk-select the assets you want to update.
- From the bulk actions toolbar, select Download and then select Download CSV.
The CSV is downloaded to your device.
Edit a metasheet
- Open the new metasheet CSV in a spreadsheet editor of your choice.
From here, add, update, and delete information within the CSV.
> < ( ) { } [ ] &" *: are reserved characters and cannot be used in any of the pieces of information you are updating.
Attachment filenames can't be adjusted using Metasheets.- Rename and save the updated CSV metasheet.
- Within Brandfolder, navigate to Settings > Bulk Management.
- Select Upload CSV.
The file you upload to metasheets must be in CSV format.
- Upload the new metasheet within the import box.
After the CSV is done processing, the updates will appear in Brandfolder.
Processing time is determined by the number of assets and the amount of information updated. If this is a large update, allow a few moments for processing. It's not recommended to update more than 40,000 rows at once.
Custom field management in metasheets
Single and multi-value custom fields can be updated for many assets using metasheets.
When adding multiple values to a key, they must be separated by semicolons. For example, for the key Channel, you would need to list the values as Direct Mail, E-mail, and Website.
Only keys that support multiple values recognize the semicolon-delimited format. This ensures that keys cannot accidentally be assigned more than one value.
Beginning and trailing semicolons are ignored. Comma delimiting does not work.
Dependent custom fields
Dependent custom fields are also managed in bulk using metasheets, but in a different area. Learn more about dependent custom fields.
