Brand Smartsheet with your colors and logo
USM Content
The color settings and logo branding you apply appear in the Smartsheet application and email messages your organization sends via Smartsheet.
What to know before you brand
Review these guidelines before you apply custom colors or a logo:
- Logo images may be resized. For logo best practices, see Create a quality logo to brand Smartsheet items.
- Once a System Admin enables Branding Lock, you can't overwrite the account colors and branding for new items.
- Changes to colors and logos don't apply retroactively to existing Smartsheet items. They also don't apply to items you don't own.
Use this table to find the branding option for your role and task:
Branding option | Who can apply it |
|---|---|
Personal colors and logo | Any user |
Workspace colors and logo | Workspace Owner |
Account colors and account logo | System Admin |
Form branding | Form creator or workspace Owner |
When branding is set at multiple levels, the most specific enforced setting takes precedence. Account-level branding overrides workspace branding, and workspace branding overrides personal branding. Branding Lock is the setting a System Admin uses to enforce account-level branding across the plan: with it enabled, users can't override account colors and logo with their own workspace or personal branding.
Brand the application for yourself
If Branding Lock isn't active, you can apply colors and a logo to new items you create outside of workspaces.
- Select Account in the lower-left corner and select Personal Colors & Logo.
- Choose color settings for Background and Task Bar Color. Or select a color theme.
- Upload an image file of your custom logo. For information on supported file types and logo best practices, see Create a quality logo to brand Smartsheet items.
- Select Save.
New sheets, reports, and dashboards you create outside workspaces inherit your new personal colors and logo.
Brand your workspace
Items in a workspace inherit the organization-level branding that was created when the workspace was established. If Branding Lock isn't active, you can apply colors and a logo to your workspace items.
- From Browse, right-click on the workspace you want to brand.
- Select Workspace Colors & Logo.
- Select color settings for the Background and Taskbar Color. Or select a color theme.
- Upload an image file of your custom logo. See supported file types and logo best practices at Create a quality logo to brand Smartsheet items.
- Select Save.
Your workspace's sheets, reports, forms, and dashboards inherit the new colors and logo of your workspace.
Brand the application for your entire organization
System Admins can set the default color settings and logo branding for all the accounts' sheets, reports, and dashboards.
- In the lower-left corner, select Account > Admin Center.
- On the Branding & Personalization tile, select either of the following available options:
- Account Colors
- Account Logo: Upload an image file of your custom logo. See supported file types and logo best practices at Create a quality logo to brand Smartsheet items.
- Branding Lock: Prevents users from applying personal branding settings.
- Select Save.
You can revert to the default Smartsheet settings at any time.
Brand your forms
Keep the following behaviors in mind when branding your forms:
Forms created within a workspace inherit that workspace's branding by default. You can also customize form appearance independently.
Any branding applied to your workspaces is the default branding for newly created forms.
You can customize forms by adding custom colors, changing or hiding the background, or modifying the logo.
