Set up your sheet in table view
USM Content
Table view is newly released and continues to evolve. We're actively improving it, so stay tuned for updates and enhancements.
Access table view
In any sheet, navigate to the view switcher in the top toolbar and select Table.

Create and manage columns
Owners and Admins can add and manage columns.
Add new columns
To add a new column, you can:
- Select the column options menu .
- Select Insert column left/right.
- Name your column.
- Add an optional column description.
- Select the column type for your data.
Now your column is ready for the data you specified.

You can also quickly add columns by hovering between columns and selecting .
Column properties
Use the column properties to change and rename the column or add/edit the column description.
- Select the column options menu .
- Select Column properties.
- Make the necessary changes.
- Change the column name.
- Add/edit the column description.
- Change the column type.
- Select Apply.
Now your column type is ready for the data you specified.
Colored dropdown values
When you create a dropdown list column, you can assign a color value to each option.
To add color values, you can:
- Select the column options menu .
- Select Column properties.
- On the row for each value, select the color box, then select the color you want.
- Select Apply to save and apply your changes.
You can see the color dropdown values in table, timeline, and board view. However, you must be in table view to configure or edit the color dropdown values.

Resize columns
You can resize an individual column, or you can use Control/Command to select multiple columns and resize them at once using either method.
To resize columns, you can:
- Select the column options menu .
- Select Resize column to enter an exact pixel width.
- Select Resize to apply your changes.
Now your columns are at the width you specified.

You can also quickly resize individual columns or columns in bulk by selecting the right boundary and dragging it.
Delete columns
You can delete a single column, or you can use Control/Command to select multiple columns and delete in bulk.
If you delete more than ten columns at once, the change is permanent and can't be undone.
- Select the columns you want to delete.
- Select the column options menu
- Select Delete column.
Create and manage rows
Owners, Admins, and Editors can add and edit rows.
Add rows
To add a new row, you can:
- Select the row options menu
- Select Insert row above.
Now, the row is ready for you to input data.

You can also quickly add a row by hovering between rows and selecting .
Move rows
You can move individual rows or in bulk.
- Select the individual rows, consecutive rows, or use Control/Command to select non-consecutive rows.
- Drag your selected rows up or down.

Create or manage hierarchy
Owners, Admins, and Editors can edit the level of a given item in the hierarchy structure.
Add or edit hierarchy
- Select the row or rows you want to edit the hierarchy of
- Select the row options menu .
- Select Make child row or Promote child row.
Now the rows are outdented or indented as needed.
You can also use the hierarchy to expand and collapse arrows that are anchored on the far left of each row to quickly adjust the hierarchy. Select the outdent or indent arrow to make the row a parent or child row.

Any expand or collapse changes you make don't impact whether rows appear expanded or collapsed for others in the view.
Lock columns or rows
Owners and Admins can lock and unlock columns and rows. When a column or row is locked, no users can edit the information in it. Only sheet Owners and Admins can unlock the column or row to allow editing if needed.
- Select the Column options or Row options menu
- Select Lock column, Lock row, Unlock column, or Unlock row as needed.
A lock icon appears on the row/column to signal to all sheet users that it is locked and you can't edit it.
Conditional formatting
Conditional formatting changes the appearance of rows or cells based on the values they contain. To create and apply new conditional formatting or edit existing rules, switch back to grid view. Conditional formatting created in grid view is carried over to table view.
Sheet settings
Select the sheet settings icon to set the project start and end dates.
Switch to grid or Gantt view to edit dependencies, working days, or Resource Management.

Rename and favorite your sheet
- Rename your sheet by selecting the sheet title and typing in the new name.
- Favorite or unfavorite your sheets by selecting the star icon in the toolbar.
