Metric widgets are ideal for surfacing at-a-glance metrics, like budget totals, task counts, or status summaries, so stakeholders can monitor what matters most without opening the underlying sheet.

Add a metric widget

  1. Open the dashboard you want to edit.
  2. Select Edit Dashboard >  +Add Widget. The Add Widget panel appears.
  3. Select Metric. The right panel opens.

  5. Choose the sheet and cells containing the data you want to display.
  6. Select either Grid data or Sheet Summary data as the data source:
  • If you chose Grid data, select the cells you would like to display in the metric widget and select OK.
  • If you selected Sheet Summary data, check the boxes of the sheet summary fields you would like to display and select OK.

Keep in mind:

  • If you want to display the data in a grid format, first create a report and use the Report widget type.
  • If you want to display new fields as they’re added to or deleted from the source sheet, then you need to manually add or remove them from the metric widget as well.
Once you've chosen the data to display, make it look the way you want:
