Get started with Dynamic View
Boost collaboration even when you cannot share the underlying sheets or reports with the Dynamic View premium app. Share only what is needed to the right people at the right time for viewing or editing.
Access Dynamic View
There are a few ways to start using Dynamic View:
- Log directly in to Dynamic View.
- After your first login, access Dynamic View from the Launcher in the lower-left corner of your screen.
- Select Dynamic View on the menu bar at the top of your screen.
Underlying sheet permissions
Administrators who configure the views (including any conditional logic) must be shared to the source sheets and reports.
Others who view and edit source data based on permissions set in Dynamic View app don’t need to be shared to the source sheets or reports.
Requirements
Before you can create and configure in Dynamic View, you’ll need to create the source sheets or reports that will store the data in the Smartsheet app.
Create an intake form
Create a Smartsheet form to standardize the intake process to feed directly into your dynamic views. Read Collect Information with a Form for more details.

Dynamic View insights
SysAdmin can navigate to Admin Center then to Plan Insights to see Dynamic View insights data. The data includes the total number of views created, rows updated, shared collaborators, views shared, active users, active views, and more. Learn more about plan insights.
